Happy Halloween!

Here are some pictures of the kids on Halloween. Mia was a ladybug and Ethan was a monkey. It was hard keeping the monkey mask on Ethan, but I was able to snap some pictures of him with it on. We didn't get too crazy trick-or-treating. The only candy they ate last night was a few sucks of dad's grape sucker. They both loved it! I guess next year we'll let them get all sugared up.

This is a picture of Uncle Nathan (in the black), cousin Janai as a salsa dancer, and cousin Noah as a power ranger. This is prior to going to Zoo Boo in Watertown last weekend.

All of the cousins! Janai, Noah, Ethan, and Mia.

Playing in the Leaves

The weather has been gorgeous here the last couple of days. I know winter is fast approaching and have been trying to take the kids outside as much as possible! I don't know how we're going to handle being cooped up all winter!

10 Months Old

We can't believe they are all ready 10 months! The time is flying by. Ethan and Mia are getting easier to take care of. They're starting to play longer on the floor and love sitting across from each other. They still fight over things, and it's the most odd random things. For example, the java jacket on a cup of coffee from Starbucks, a red basket, tape, a calculator. It still is quite amusing and entertaining to watch. It usually goes something like this...Ethan has a roll of tape. Mia sees it and grabs it away. Ethan will whine and flap his arms like a chicken. He'll then take it away (or try to take it away) from Mia. Mia will whine and either try to scratch him, pinch him, pull his hair, or bite him. She'll take it back and it starts all over!

It's a challenge to change both kids. They have both started rolling over the second they are on the changing table. Mia is easier to handle and turn back over, but Ethan is another story. Mike says it's like wrestling a calf to the ground! Most times, I leave him where he is and change his diaper and clothes while he's lying down.

Ethan has a total of four teeth now! I have to say that the uppers were much easier on me than the lowers. He's accidently bit me a couple of times and those things are so sharp! Mia hasn't gotten any of her teeth yet!

Ethan is crawling better and better each day. He still looks like a seal flopping around, but he's getting faster. He loves crawling over to the entertainment center and looking at the electronic stuff. His favorite is Mike's PS3. He has figured out how to get the door open and will hit the PS3 and take the controllers out. I think his favorite favorite thing is the keyboard on the computer. If he gets the chance, he'll pound on it. He has all ready broken one of the keys on my brand new laptop! (Dad was supposed to be watching him!) Some other things he likes are my cell phone, the remote controls, pop cans, beer cans, and beer bottles. Ethan is wearing mostly 18 month clothes. He can fit into 12 month shirts, but 12 month jeans are too tight on him. At his 9 month visit, his head was off the charts, he was in the 90th percentile for weight, and 75th percentile for height. He's our big boy, but he's very gentle.

Mia isn't crawling yet, but I think it will be sooner than I think. She loves playing on the floor and with her Elmo toy. Some of her favorite things are a red basket, my cell phone, the computer keyboard and the remote controls. Mia has actually called a couple of people when she was playing with my phone. She left Aunt Amber a nice voice mail where she screamed at the top of her lungs. Apparently, Amber is now deaf in that ear! I've bought some hair clips for her, and it's been fun trying to fix her hair. The first couple of times she sat really still, but now, it's more of a challenge. Some of her hairdos are pretty crazy! She is still wearing 6-9 month clothes and she could still fit into some 3-6 month stuff. At her 9 month visit, her head was in the 20th percentile, weight was 20th percentile, and length was 40th percentile. She's our petite little girl, but she's feisty!

Mia is a bully, I'm sorry to say! She hasn't ever been in daycare and their friend, Rhea, doesn't scratch, pinch, pull hair, or bite. She hasn't learned it from anyone, so I guess it's human instinct. She's even tried to bite me a couple of times (she didn't want to lay on the changing table!) Little squirt! I'm going to have to keep a close eye on her, so she doesn't beat her brother up too badly. Ethan doesn't do any of that stuff back to her. I keep thinking though, that when he realizes he's almost twice her size, there might be a little payback!

We Have Our First Crawler!

It's Ethan! I wasn't expecting him to crawl at all. All of the baby books I've read said that they will get up on all fours and rock back and forth for a few weeks prior to crawling. He skipped that part! I had popcorn and a pop can (his favorite) on the floor and the next thing I knew he was crawling over to get them. I couldn't believe my eyes! He flops around like a seal when he crawls and is rather slow, but he gets to where he's going! I haven't done any baby-proofing yet. I guess I better get on that!

Pumpkin Patch

Aunt Amber and I decided to take Ethan and Mia to a pumpkin patch and apple orchard this weekend. They were having a pumpkin festival with pony rides, a petting zoo, and lots of different foods. Too bad it rained off and on the entire day! We still decided to venture out though.
We pulled the kids in their wagon. They had a blast! I didn't hear a peep from them the entire time. They enjoyed watching all the other kids and people walking around. We initially went to pick a couple of pumpkins, but after seeing that the pumpkin patch was full of mud, we decided to skip that part. Instead, we had a piece of pie with ice cream. Needless to say, they absolutely loved it!
Enjoy the pictures!
