Oldie but Goodie

I was going through some of my old videos and came across this video. I had forgotten about it. He told me that a leprechaun messed up his room and threw his clothes all over the floor.

Welcome to the World, Margaret!

I'm an auntie again! My little sister, Jenna, gave birth to a little girl on August 4th. They named her Margaret Eliana. We're having fun with all of the nicknames. We all wanted to call her Maggie, but Jenna and Matt don't care for that name.

Here are the names that we are calling her: Magpie, Mags, Margo, Madge, and Ethan calls her smeagol (from Lord of the Rings. He said she'll be crawling around like smeagol some day.) The poor thing is going to be so confused.
Blurry picture but I wanted to include it. Baby fever is setting in!
The kids loved Mags, especially the girls. They couldn't get enough of her. Actually, they were baby hogs. I would hold her for 10 seconds before one of them stole her from me.
Look at those cheeks!!
Congratulations, Jenna and Matt! We can't wait to see her again!

New Glasses

Look who has glasses! Mia has been going to the eye doctor every 6 weeks for her left drifting eye. We've been patching her eye 1-2 times per week. At her last check-up in August, her vision in her left eye had worsened quite a bit and her right eye had also weakened.

He did say that the vision in her right eye wasn't horrible and if both eyes were that vision, she wouldn't need glasses. It was her left eye. He suspects that she'll need eye surgery this fall to help with the drifting. For whatever reason, it has gotten worse. The patching really helped when we did it 5 times per week, but we can't do that forever.

I was pretty bummed when he said she needed glasses. I envisioned her losing them, breaking them, scratching them etc.Mia, on the other hand, was beyond excited. She couldn't wait to pick them out. She went with the most expensive purple glasses Shopko had. I tried convincing her to get a cheaper pair, but she wouldn't budge. Oh well. I figured that if she picked them out, hopefully she'll wear them.
