Halloween Program

 Ethan and Mia had a Halloween program. The kids were able to wear their costumes for the show. They all looked so cute!

 There were four different spidermen.

 They sang a few different songs and used props during them. It was such a cute show. You could tell the teachers put a lot of hard work into it.

I am one of those parents who sit in the front row with 2-3 cameras. The first time I did that, I think Mike was a little embarrassed. He said to me, "you are one of those people?" I've been in the front row the last two programs.

I kept telling Mike that we had to leave for the program so I could get a good seat. He held me up because he was finishing up with work. Grrrr. The entire way to the school, I was telling him how I was going to be mad at him if I didn't get the front row.

We walked in, and the first two rows were completely full. I turned around and gave him "the look." Haha. I hope the teachers didn't notice. We still got some good pictures so I guess it wasn't horrible to be in the third row. Next year, we're going early or I'm leaving without him! ;)

Trick or Treat Time!

 We went over to my sister's house to go trick-or-treating. There are so many houses over on her side of town! We've done this the past three years, so I guess it's now a tradition. The kids have fun going with each other. Janai was a referee, Noah was a ninja, Jude was herself, Ethan was venom, Mia was a horse, and Riley was a princess.

 We hit up a ton of houses. The twins were so excited. They ran ahead of everyone to get to the door first. Ethan would ring the doorbell and yell, "Happy Halloween!"

 The kids got a ton of candy. Towards the end, they were sitting in the wagon and Mike and Steve were carrying Riley and Jude.

Isn't this cute? It's a whale made out of a pumpkin. I thought it was very creative. The kids were fascinated with it. I had to pull them away from it. Maybe we'll attempt it next year.

Zoo Boo

My mom and I took the kids to Zoo Boo. It was the first time we went. The kids had a blast putting their costumes on. Janai was a senorita. Noah was a ninja. Ethan was spiderman. Mia was a horse. Riley was a princess. Jude was herself. Surprisingly, she didn't want to dress up. We got her to put a tiara on though.

 They had us walk on a designated path and people were handing out candy and little toys along the way. The kids had a good time.

 It was pretty crowded. Next year, we aren't going to go right when they open. I think if we wait a good hour, it won't be so congested. I'm also buying tickets online. The line was ridiculous!

 They even decorated the exhibits. The zoo did such a good job.

 The kids all had to ride the "scary carousel."

As we were leaving, there were firefighters handing out candy. Ethan missed it, so he started complaining that he didn't get a piece of candy. We gave him one that had fallen on the ground and then he asked why he only got one piece and the others got two. My mom told him that the others had only gotten one piece as well. That's when Riley piped in, "uh-huh Grandma. I got two ones. I got two ones. Ethan, I got two ones. I got two ones." She just had to rub it in a little.

What Do You Want to Be?

 One of my friends did this with her kids and I thought it was such a cute idea, I copied it! (Thanks Tasha!) I asked each one what they wanted to be when they grow up.

Mia said she wanted to be a painter. This surprised me. I was sure she was going to say she wanted to do something with horses.

Riley's answer also surprised me. I thought she was going to say something about babies.

Ethan's answer also surprised me. I thought he'd say something about a super hero or a video game.

Oh Ethan

 Ethan had to get stitches on his knee (this makes number three.) He took a baby carriage and rammed it into the back of my legs. When it hit my legs, I instinctively pushed it back and he fell over it. There was an exposed screw and of course, he landed on it.

I took all three kids with me. I know, not the best decision. They put us in the procedure room and prepped Ethan. The girls were really interested in the entire process. They watched the doctor lidocaine Ethan's knee and watched as he started stitching.

I was sitting in a chair holding Ethan's arms down when Mia came up to me and handed me her wad of chewed gum. A second later, I notice her laying on the nurse's lap who was holding Ethan's legs down. I grabbed Mia's arm and was going to get after her for laying on the nurse. I noticed her head dropped down, and she was a limp noodle. That's when the nurse said, "I think she fainted!" She sure as shit did!

I let go of Ethan's arms to pick Mia up. She was as white as a ghost. She was only out for 10 seconds or so. She looked pretty dazed. I think she got too hot with the light on and it probably didn't help that her brother was getting stitched up.

I find it funny that she handed me her gum right before she fainted. I guess she didn't want it getting in her hair!

Photo Op

 I realize that I'm not in many pictures with the kids. I usually like it that way because I don't have to put makeup on or get dressed, but I do want them to have pictures with me.

I got my camera out and shot away. The kids look really cute. I look REALLY tired. Try to ignore me :)

What We've Been Up To

I realize it has been forever since I've posted! I really don't know what we've been doing but we sure have been busy.

The girls like their new daycare. Riley no longer cries when I drop her off and will ask on occasion if she's going to preschool. Mia is so easy. She's never cried and would be happy wherever we bring her.

Ethan has been another story. It has taken quite a long time for him to adjust. We've now been there a full two months, and he still cries almost every time I drop him off. He has been acting up at home quite a bit and at preschool. Ethan was getting better about his OCD habits over the summer. He was even letting me pick out his clothes and didn't care what color of cup I gave him.

When we switched daycares, all of his OCD-ness is back and I'd even say it may be a little worse. Maybe he feels like he needs more control since his environment is new. Who knows. All I know is he's driving me crazy! :)

I received an email from his preschool teacher a few weeks ago saying how he was getting in trouble at school. And then I picked them up from daycare a few weeks ago, Mia gets in the car and says, "Darrin has a HUGE pee pee." You can imagine my surprise. It turns out Ethan, Mia, and this little boy were outside in the playhouse and showed each other their private parts. I was ready to pull them from daycare after that, but Mike suggested we wait a few more weeks to see how he does.

I do think it's getting better. When I pick them up, he seems to be having fun. I caught him showing his butt to several little kids outside and got after him again. I hope he has learned not to do that!
