7 Month Pictures

7 Months Old

Ethan and Mia are getting so big! Ethan smiles and laughs constantly. There isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't laugh. Mia, on the other hand, smiles constantly but hardly ever laughs. They passed their well-baby check with flying colors. Developmentally, they are where they should be. The only area where they may lag is the development of their large muscle groups, so they may not crawl or walk as soon as some babies. The doctor was pleased with how vocal both babies are. Ethan is rolling over like crazy. Everytime I put him on the floor and leave the room, he is on his stomach when I return. He moves himself around the room this way. He will be sitting up by himself soon. He can do it for a few seconds and then starts to tip over. The doctor was impressed with how strong he is. Mia doesn't roll over quite as much as Ethan, which is funny because she was the first to roll over. When she's on her back, she moves all over the place. She kicks her legs and rotates herself in all sorts of directions. Mia can also sit up for a little while but tips over within a few seconds. She is drooling like crazy and will probably be getting a tooth soon. Believe it or not, they are still sharing a crib. I have been waiting to buy another one until we were settled into our new house. (It now has been ordered!) We put a stuffed snake in between them because Mia had been kicking Ethan almost nightly. She has found her way above the snake a few times and has gotten Ethan, and now, she found her way straight through the middle of the snake. I'm not quite sure how she did it, but we heard them cooing one morning and when we went to check on them, she was perpendicular to Ethan with the snake on top of her. 6 Month Pictures

6 Months Old

Ethan and Mia are 6 months old today! Happy 1/2 birthday! They've changed so much in those 6 months. Ethan is sleeping through the night (unless Mia wakes him up!) He usually goes to bed around 8:30pm and wakes up around 8:00am. He takes a couple cat-naps during the day, so he keeps me busy! He continues to laugh and smile all the time. Most of the time, he'll crack a smile if you even glance his way. He's a happy baby and very mellow. He LOVES to be carried around so he can look at things. It wouldn't be a big deal, but the boy is heavy! He makes my arms ache if I'm carrying him for too long. He can get pretty mad if you try putting him down. He is rolling over now! I didn't think the day would ever come! Ethan loves to eat! He has cereal in the morning, vegetables at lunch, and fruit and cereal in the evening. He also drinks bottles all day long! I don't think he has a favorite vegetable and eats them all. He loves the fruit we've given him so far (bananas, prunes, and apples.) I think he's going to like everything we give him! :)Mia is kind of sleeping through the night. She was up until 2 weeks ago. I don't know what happened but she now wakes up around 1am and wants to play. That's a problem because they are still sharing a crib and she tends to wake Ethan up. One morning (5am to be exact), Ethan started screaming at the top of his lungs. I run in there and Mia had turned herself upside down and was kicking him right in his face (not just his head, but on his nose, mouth, and eyes.) He had huge crocodile tears coming down and Mia was kicking as fast as she could. Poor guy! Other times, she reaches over and pulls his blanket over his face and he hates that! If I hear her awake, I try to get in there ASAP so she doesn't wake him up. I hope this is just a little phase she's going through and she'll grow out of it. We'll be moving them to separate cribs as soon as we get a second one! Mia also loves to smile but she's a hard cookie to make laugh. Maybe we're not that funny to her! Mia is very easy going but has a terrible temper. She can throw such a fit! It's usually when she's tired and wants to go to bed. Mia also likes to be carried around to look at things, but she'll also sit on their play mat and kick or sit in the swing and be pretty content. Mia has been rolling over for quite some time now. She's pretty quick at it, but won't do it unless she wants to! Mia doesn't like to eat as much as her brother! She also gets cereal in the morning, vegetables at lunch, and fruit and cereal at night. She is starting to not like the cereal unless I put a banana in it. She loves all the fruit we've tried so far (bananas, prunes, and apples.) I don't think she has a favorite vegetable but fresh bananas are her favorite so far!

5 Months Old

5 months old all ready! Ethan and Mia are doing well. We started vegetables on the 24th of May. Pees were first and they liked them! We've also tried carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, and green beans. So far, I'd say the green beans were the least favorite. We've pretty much settled into Uncle Mark's house while we look for houses. It took Ethan and Mia a good week to adjust to the new environment, weather, and time change. They're, thankfully, back to themselves. Ethan loves to be carried around everywhere. We all get tired because he is so heavy. Ethan doesn't sleep a lot during the day. He takes little 30 minute cat naps a couple times a day. He eats 5-6 ounces every 3-4 hours. He usually wakes up once around 5 am for a bottle and then goes back to sleep. He is up for good by 8:30am. He really likes his cereal! He eats cereal in the mornings and the evenings. Ethan smiles and laughs constantly and loves to be around people. He hasn't rolled over yet but hopefully it will be soon!Mia also likes to be carried around but she will also sit in the swing. She usually takes one long nap in the morning and a long nap in the afternoon. She's our little sleeper! She eats 4-5 ounces every 4 hours. She usually sleeps through the night, but lately, she has been waking up. She's also up for good around 8:30am. Mia also likes to eat cereal, especially at night. She likes to have more quiet time than Ethan but still smiles a lot. She's laughed a couple of times but you really have to work at it! She hasn't rolled over either, but I think she's getting close!
