Pumpkin Time

Uncle Mark comes over every year and we carve pumpkins together. He brings the templates and tools so it makes it fun and easy.
Mia chose a werewolf and Ethan wanted the screaming ghost. Riley was at my sister's house so I chose an owl for her.

The kids hated scooping out the pumpkin guts! It is gross.
Thanks to my hubby for taking a picture of me in my bathrobe. It's what every pregnant woman wants, right?

Here's my owl. It turned out pretty well. Mine was the easiest template and I was done way before the others.
Mike did the werewolf and Mark did the screaming ghost.

I can't wait for Halloween. It's one of my favorite holidays!!

Halloween Fun at the Pavilion

I bought the kids a pass to the Washington Pavilion last year for Christmas. They had a special Halloween event at the museum, so we packed the kids up and headed out.
They had bubbles that were frozen. They popped when you touched them but they didn't feel cold. It was a neat experiment.

They all made these coffee-filter type art projects. They dyed the edges of them.
They had a hair-chalking station. The girls hit that up two different times to get different colors put in their hair.

The girls wanted their faces painted. Riley had horses on both sides of her cheeks.

Mia had a cat on her face. The face paint was glow-in-the-dark so we had to go under the black light to see what they looked like. Kind of creepy, if you ask me.

My sweet Riley. She loves making faces and is such a goof.

We ended the evening by going out to eat with Uncle Mark. It was such a fun day. We're trying to squeeze as much as we can in before baby (aka cuatro) comes.

Happy Birthday, Great Grandma

We held a birthday party for my Grandma at the end of September. She's turning 93 in October! My grandma didn't want a birthday party, so we told her we were having a family reunion. She was okay with that. :) All of my aunt's and uncle's came and most of my cousins. It was good to see everyone and catch up. We had a lot of good food and of course, cake.
Mia, Jude, and Riley. They're best buds--most of the time.

Riley and Evan (Amber's little boy.) I love having so many little ones running around. They have so much fun together.
Margaret (Jenna's little one.) She's got quite the personality. She's outgoing, curious, and very loud! She's so cute.

My brother, Nate, smashed cake in my dad's face. We all gasped and held our breath. Nate was lucky that the room was full of people.

Here's a picture of my grandma with all of the grandkids. She tripped and fell a couple of days before the party and ended up with two big black eyes.
Here's my grandma and the great-grandkids. There were still quite a few missing.

My beloved family. From left to right, Amber, Jenna, me, Sarah, my mom, my dad, my grandma, Nate, Will, and Kelly. I love them so much!

Concord Grapes

It's that time of year again. The concord grapes are ready to be picked. It seems that we get a good amount every other year. Last year we didn't get much, and this year we got a ton. The kids love helping out.

I love the different colors. All sorts of different shades of purples.

We give the grapes to Grandma Andrea. She makes jellies and grape juice from them.
