5 Months Old

5 months old all ready! Ethan and Mia are doing well. We started vegetables on the 24th of May. Pees were first and they liked them! We've also tried carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, and green beans. So far, I'd say the green beans were the least favorite. We've pretty much settled into Uncle Mark's house while we look for houses. It took Ethan and Mia a good week to adjust to the new environment, weather, and time change. They're, thankfully, back to themselves. Ethan loves to be carried around everywhere. We all get tired because he is so heavy. Ethan doesn't sleep a lot during the day. He takes little 30 minute cat naps a couple times a day. He eats 5-6 ounces every 3-4 hours. He usually wakes up once around 5 am for a bottle and then goes back to sleep. He is up for good by 8:30am. He really likes his cereal! He eats cereal in the mornings and the evenings. Ethan smiles and laughs constantly and loves to be around people. He hasn't rolled over yet but hopefully it will be soon!Mia also likes to be carried around but she will also sit in the swing. She usually takes one long nap in the morning and a long nap in the afternoon. She's our little sleeper! She eats 4-5 ounces every 4 hours. She usually sleeps through the night, but lately, she has been waking up. She's also up for good around 8:30am. Mia also likes to eat cereal, especially at night. She likes to have more quiet time than Ethan but still smiles a lot. She's laughed a couple of times but you really have to work at it! She hasn't rolled over either, but I think she's getting close!

Wow! Where has the time gone? Ethan and Mia are both doing great! We got through RSV season with no sickness! We started rice cereal a few days ago. Neither baby is crazy about it, and they make a huge mess. I think more cereal was on their bibs than in their mouths! Ethan still wakes up twice during the night to eat. We were hoping that the cereal would do the trick but it didn't! Mia is still sleeping 7-8 hours at a time. It would be so nice to have uninterupted sleep! Ethan is taking 6 ounces of formula every 3-3 1/2 hours and Mia is taking 5 ounces every 4 hours. Ethan and Mia had their shots. They both screamed like mad but quieted down almost right away. They had a couple doses of Tylenol each and tolerated them really well! Ethan is in the 50-75% for weight and in the 10-25% for length. Mia is in the 10% for weight and the 25% for length.

Ethan is still not sleeping through the night. He wakes up about every 4 hours wanting to eat. He is taking 5 ounces per feeding and is growing like a weed. He is really smiling a lot and likes to be held and talked to. Mia sleeps almost 7 hours during the night. Like her mom, she needs her sleep! She takes about 4 ounces per feeding but isn't as big as her brother. It's harder to get her to smile and she really likes looking around.
