Look Who's Sitting Up!

What a big girl! I tried a couple of weeks ago to have her sit up, but she wasn't quite ready. She did really well this time! I have to spread her legs out, but she can sit up for quite awhile before she tumbles over. You might notice how her onsie is dirty. Cousin Noah decided to give Riley some of his chocolate chip cake. I'm not sure how much he gave her, but she spit-up some chocolate, so I know she got some! Poor Riley! She's going to be one tough girl.

Ethan's other two teeth came in. His upper right and lower right canines poked through. Only one more to go. He hasn't been as bad with these teeth as he usually is. Thank goodness!

Look at me!

Mia purposefully knocked her over. She actually did it a few times. What a stinker! Riley didn't mind until the third time. She started hollering. I guess she'd had enough!

I still can't believe she can sit up. She's growing too fast for me.

Labor Day Weekend

I hope everyone had a good Labor Day Weekend! We stayed busy the entire time. Mike and I went on a date on Friday night. Grandpa and Grandma Schmidt watched the kids for us, so we could go out to dinner. It's been awhile since Mike and I were able to get out! We had a nice relaxing time!

We spent the majority of the weekend outside enjoying the weather. The kids, of course, were in 7th heaven. They LOVE going outside. Mike and I took the twins to the zoo on Sunday while Grandpa and Grandma watched Riley. It was nice to give the twins some one-on-one time with us. I know it's not easy for them having a high-maintenance little sister! The kids loved the zoo, for the most part. They got sick of riding in the stroller and thought they were big enough to walk themselves. Their favorite animals were the ducks. We were able to feed them and they came right up to the fence.

The weekend didn't end on the greatest note. We were outside doing some yard work. Mike was raking by a tree and Ethan was right there watching him. Mike disturbed some yellow-jacket wasps, and about 25 came out of their hive. Ethan, unfortunately, was standing right in front of the hive. They attacked his head and arms. He was stung at least 8 times. Mike was also stung. The wasps were chasing Mike and Ethan around the yard. My poor boys! I gave Ethan benadryl immediately. He didn't have any kind of a reaction, thank God! The poor kid screamed for a good half and hour after he was stung. He NEVER cries when he's hurt, so I knew it was really bothering him. It only really bothered him for the first night. He's back to his normal self now.

Mia was scared to sit on the animals.

Sitting on the hippo. Ethan was pushing me because he wanted to sit where I was sitting.

Playing in the sprinkler. I don't know if you can tell, but Grandpa and Dad butchered Ethan's hair. We were going for a faux mo-hawk and we ended up with a buzz cut. I'm still getting used to it!

Riley in her Crib

Here's Riley in her crib for the first time. I tried putting her there to sleep last night and she woke up constantly. (She ended up back in her pack and play!) I also tried three times today to lay her down for a nap and she woke up immediately. (She ended up back on our bed, her favorite place to nap.) She's not too fond of it, needless to say! I told Mike that he can transition Riley to her crib when I have to work this weekend! haha

This is a lot better than mine!

This is a lot of fun!

Don't you dare leave me here!

Ethan and Riley

Ethan's upper left canine poked through. Only 3 more teeth for him, and he's got them all (except for his second year molars!) I can't wait to be done with teething!

Mike's been wanting to kick Riley out of our room for awhile now. She's been sleeping in a pack and play next to my side of the bed. I don't think she makes much noise, and it's easier for me to grab her when she wants to eat, but Mike is pretty persistent!

We finished painting Riley's room. I wanted to do pink and brown stripes, but Mike said no. He thinks I'm going to make a mess painting, so he wants to do it all. But, he complains when I want something painted. WHATEVER! I ended up getting a light purple color. It looked like an Easter egg after the first coat. I was thinking that I had picked the wrong color. The second coat darkened it up a little. I'm not a huge pastel-colored person, but it looks cute for a little girl's room. Once I get some decorations up, I'll take some pictures.

Peas, Take 1

We decided it was time to try some veggies again. We gave her a few bites of peas. She didn't necessarily like them but she didn't dislike them either. I've noticed that she's really sensitive to food. If I give her too much cereal or make it too thick, she gets extremely gassy and fussy. She slept through the night after eating the peas but we're still limiting her to only a few bites! I can't take these all-nighters anymore!

Did It Again

Ethan climbed out of his crib again while he was supposed to be napping! Little squirt! I don't think they're ready for toddler beds yet. I'd like to hold off on getting those for as long as I can. We've got to come up with something...

Oh No!

I suppose you can't guess who climbed out of his crib when he was supposed to be napping?!? I could hear him in their room and went to get him. The little stinker was walking around their room. I have no idea how long he'd been out. I'm not even sure if he took a nap! I could hear him and Mia "talking" for quite awhile. I knew he was going to figure out eventually how to get out of his crib. I was hoping it would come much later! I hope he doesn't do this on a regular basis!
