I've all ready ordered my Christmas cards! Can you believe it?

Happy Late Thanksgiving!

I realize I'm really late with posting this! This year, we celebrated with Mike's side of the family. We both had to work on Wednesday until 5:30pm. Mike's parents watched the kids for us on Wednesday so we didn't have to pay an extra day (thanks again!) They left early afternoon with the kids to go to Sharman's house (Mike's aunt.)

Mike and I left after we got off work. The ride down there was so quiet and relaxing! :) We played some cards on Wednesday night and had a bunch of appetizers. Their favorite card game is canasta. I'm proud to say Tom and I won both hands. Mike likes to trash talk so I always like it when I beat him. He gets really quiet!

We had all of the traditional Thanksgiving food. The guys watched some football and then it was time for us to leave. I had to work Friday at 8am. There was no Black Friday Shopping for me this year.

Cancun

 Mike and I went to Cancun, Mexico in the beginning of October. One of his best friends was married down there. It was a great get-away for us. We'd all ready been to Cancun, so we stayed in the resort the entire time.

 It was pretty fancy! It was definitely an upgrade from the spring break trip. (Mike and I met in Cancun on spring break 13 years ago!)

 The red flag was out the entire time due to jelly fish. I was pretty bummed that we flew all this way and we couldn't go in the water. We sat on the beach quite a bit.

 Our room was really nice. It had a huge hot tub, king-sized bed, and balcony.

 We went with another couple, Joe and Mandy. Mike has been friends with Joe since high school. It was fun hanging out with them!

Mike was one of the groomsmen. It was so hot and humid there. I felt sorry for all the guys wearing long-sleeves.

Nate and Nikki. It was a nice ceremony.

The resort was all-inclusive so we ate and drank non-stop. The food was pretty decent and the service was good. I'd definitely recommend the Moon Palace!

The kids were well taken care of. Jenna and Kelly watched them for a few days and then my mom took over. We missed the kids and were ready to get back but Mike and I really needed to get away. It was fun spending time together!

Photo Booth

 We went to a wedding reception last weekend in Minneapolis. It was pretty fun and the food was really good. They had a photo booth set up for the guests to take pictures. They took a copy of all the pictures and put it in the guest book and everyone wrote a message to the couple. I thought that was a good idea.

 The kids absolutely loved the photo booth. In fact, they were banned from the photo booth because they were taking too many pictures. I thought the guy was rude for kicking them out. That's what it was there for, right?

 Mia even jumped in with random people. They happened to be the groom's parents, so at least we knew them!

Kelly and Eric came to the dance for a while. They had some fun with the photo booth too.

Umm...Okay

 I walked into the kids' room to wake them up for daycare. I looked over and saw this. It kind of took me by surprise for a second. It was a little on the creepy side.

 After I looked at it for a few more seconds, I started laughing. This is totally Ethan's personality. That kid is so OCD. It probably took him forever to get it just right.

Preschool

 A few months ago, I took Riley to an early childhood development screening. She did well but struggled with the language part. They wanted me to bring her back in the fall to see how she did.

We had the screening a month ago, and she did really well. Pam, the speech teacher that works with the twins, said she did well on the speech part and wouldn't qualify for that. We finished the questionnaire and Lisa, the director, said she didn't think she would qualify since she did so well.

She called me a few weeks ago and told me that Riley did qualify for the preschool program. The reason being she has quite a few accidents (pees her pants) during the day. Lisa said that was the only way she got in. According to the scoring, someone her age shouldn't be having accidents. I know it's something she is going to grow out of so I'm not too worried about it.

I am glad she got in. She has been wanting to go to preschool with the twins ever since they started. The teachers are amazing there! I can't say enough good things about them.

Riley was so excited when I told her she gets to go to preschool! Her first day was November 5th. She has Julie for a teacher (same as Mia.)

Riley goes in the morning from 8:00am to 11:00 am (Monday through Thursday.) The twins go from 12:00 to 3:00 pm (Monday through Thursday.)

 Here she is on her first day of school. She was happy that she got to carry her bookbag with her.
