Keeping Busy!

I can't believe August is half over! We've been keeping busy since the kids have gotten out of preschool. Ethan asks everyday if he is going to preschool. Mia talks about her teacher, Julie, almost every day. I'm so happy they enjoy it. They start again August 24th. They'll go from 8:10am-11:05am.

Ethan and Mia have gotten so much better this past month. They have been playing so well alone, with each other, and with Riley. They still are terrible about getting into things, but they are listening better too. Maybe we're over the "tiresome three's". I sure am hoping so! I can't believe I'll have 4-year olds in a few months! It makes me sad!

They also have been talking a lot more. I bought a new pair of pajamas and came out wearing them. Mia looks at me and said, "ooooohh....mom, you look pretty!" Ethan looked at me and said, "you look cute." They sure know how to make me smile.

Riley has gotten all four of her canine teeth in the past month. She's been pretty crabby. I don't blame her though. She's quite the character. She has seen Ethan pee outside quite a few times, and now, she wants to do it too. She stands exactly like him (arches her back) and puts her hand down there like a little boy would. She then pees all over the sidewalk. She's crazy!

Mike and I are working some on our house. We painted a bedroom downstairs. I'll take some pictures and post them. It's amazing what paint can do. We also painted some posts in front of our house and the beams on the deck. We have yet to stain the brick in the front of our house. The kids are going to need to go to Grandpa and Grandma's in order for us to do that!

I applied for a couple of family medicine clinic jobs. I'm ready to stop working nights, weekends, and holidays. After doing it for 9 years, I'm ready to have a normal schedule. I was offered the one position, but they wanted 64 hours every 2 weeks. I only want 40 or so, so I don't think it's going to work out. I'm hoping they change their mind, but I have my fingers crossed for the second clinic job. It's an automatic 10% pay cut. Ouch! And the kids would have to go to daycare more, so we're going to have to crunch some numbers. I'm excited to be normal though, and I think it's worth the paycut!
